Pan Saver ®
The Pan Saver ® by RGF® is designed to eliminate microbial growth in HVAC system condensate pans and drain lines. Utilizing a micro turbine which is driven by the suction side of the system blower, low voltage is produced and sent to the anode . This allows dispersion of silver and copper ions into the condensate water, effectively fighting bacteria and algae. The Pan Saver is magnetically mounted to the air conditioner blower housing and the anode is placed in the condensate pan. The unit is maintenance free for two years and the anode is changeable.
Left untreated, condensate pan drain lines can build up algae, bacteria and sludge. This build-up can cause odors as well as plugged drains and overflows, which in turn result in severe water damage to wood floors, walls and ceilings. The Pan Saver ® by RGF® is designed to eliminate microbial growth in HVAC system condensate pans and drain lines. Utilizing a micro turbine, which is driven by the suction side of the system blower, low voltage is produced and sent to the anode, which disperses silver and copper ions into the condensate water. The Pan Saver® is a total green product, which consumes no electricity and releases natural minerals to the drainage system. The magnetic mounting plate makes for a simple installation on the fan housing of any split or package air conditioning system. This unit is maintenance free and carries a two-year warranty.
Pan Saver® lab test results showed a 99% reduction of microbials including Legionella. Legionella is a bacterium that causes Legionnaires disease, which is a severe form of pneumonia. Common sources include HVAC systems (condensate pans), swimming pools, domestic hot water systems, fountains, and similar applications that tap into a water supply. It’s very important to attack and eliminate these pathogens at the source in order to prevent an outbreak.
The common preventative treatments of condensate line buildup are pan tablets and chemical strips, which are somewhat effective at breaking down contaminants, but require a routine maintenance schedule. When comparing the total cost of these standard treatments including extra labor costs, the Pan Saver® is the most cost effective way to treat condensate line buildup issues.
